Health Insurance

Since medical care is very expensive in the United States, Ohio University requires all international students to purchase health insurance through Ohio University. Do not purchase medical insurance at home. Only students whose government scholarship agencies provide health insurance for them will not be required to purchase Ohio University health insurance. These students must obtain a waiver at the Office of International Student & Faculty Services in 15 Park Place.

The charges will automatically be put on to your student account when you register for classes.

Health Insurance  for  Dependents

The dependents (spouse/children) of international students are also required to purchase international health insurance through Ohio University .  Students may purchase this insurance for their dependents annually or at the beginning of each quarter.

For any questions about health insurance you may contact:
Jacqueline M. Legg at the Student Health Services or Edward Muldoon at ISFS: 740-593-4330 or muldoon@ohio.edu..
