Solicitation

 Fundraising Policy: Solicitation

Registered student organizations may solicit funds after the organization has obtained facility use permission from the appropriate office. At any collection, the group soliciting must identify itself and the purpose of the solicitation to the public. Organizations should not accost passers-by as they have the right to choose to stop and listen or continue to pass by. Permission for further solicitations could be denied should passers-by be accosted.

If a fund raising activity includes asking for direct cash contributions from any person or company, the University Development Office (McGuffey Hall, 593-2636) must approve the activity. This requirement does not apply to solicitations for small amounts of cash.
