Governance 

Ohio Universities Greek Life systems is made up of four governing councils:

IFC (Interfraternity Council): Designed to guide and support the thirteen fraternities on campus in regards to academics, recruitment and community service. The council provides opportunities for fraternities, and their members, to become productive members of the Ohio University community.

MGC (Multicultural Greek Council): Serves to represent and unite the two active Ohio University MGC chapters on campus. MGC seeks to empower members and to form a more perfect alliance among fraternal organizations at Ohio University.

NPHC (National Pan-Hellenic Council): Serves the three active chapters upon campus through working together to achieve educational, social, economic, and political power. NPHC promotes interactions for the exchange of information and engages in cooperative programming and initiatives through various activities
and functions.

WPA (Women's Panhellenic Association)- Serves as the governing body for Ohio University's nine National Penhellenic Conference sororities. WPA makes policy decisions that impact all nine of its member organizations, promotes Greek unity, and increases awareness of issues in the Greek Community through functions and programs.

Greek Community Council


The Greek Community Council coordinates the Greek community of Ohio University and is comprised of four officers, each of whom is president of his/her respective Greek coordinating council or chapter; the Interfraternity Council (IFC), the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and the Women's Panhellenic Association (WPA); the Assistant Dean of the Campus Involvement Center; and the Assistant Director for Greek Life.

The Greek Community Council supports most major programming for the Greek community at Ohio University. They sponsor Homecoming festivities, the New Member Conference, and Greek Week.


Greek Life Committee

The Greek Life Committee is a standing faculty committee of Ohio University comprised of alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community members. The Greek Life Committee is responsible for reviewing matters affecting the Greek community and for making policy recommendations to the Dean of Students and the Campus Involvement Center.
