ReStore-MOVE OUT VOLUNTEERS!

ReStore is collecting student's unwanted household items on May 3rd, 4th and 5th at 5 different for two different shifts 9-1 and 1-5. Volunteers are needed at Athens Station, Sycamore, Palmer Place, River Park and the Historical Society. Chesterhill Produce Auction:Opening day for CPA is May 13th but you can sign up to volunteer on auction days now! Unload produce, run auction tickets, help with the on-site garden, or enter data on market days held Mondays and Thursdays of each week from May - October. 

CPA is located at 8380 Wagoner Road, between Ohio Routes 555 and 377 in Morgan County, Ohio.

The Hocking Hills Welcome Center is in need of Travel Counselor volunteers for a 2-3 hours shift between9-5, Monday-Saturday and 11-5 on Sunday. This is a great opportunity to enhance public speaking, customer service and knowledge of the  Hocking Hills area. A unique experience as the house is being completely built by women. This is a great opportunity to learn new skills in a fun environment. Only women are allowed to participate. Community Food Initiatives Donation Station

Every Saturday from 10:00AM - 1:00PM Athens Farmer Market

"CFI receives both food and monetary donations each week at the Athens Farmers Market from market customers and vendors and local community gardeners. The monetary donations are used to purchase fresh foods from the market vendors. "

"All of the food collected is distributed weekly to local food pantries and social service agencies. In 2012, over 44,300 pounds of produce and local food products were distributed!"

Ohio Benefit Bank

The Ohio Benefit bank connects individuals in need with community resources. Volunteers are needed for a few hours a month to help people fill out applications for food assistance  Ohio medical benefits  HEAP, FAFSA, Prescription Assistance, Voter Registration,  to help with tax preparation. Training is  is provided.

Volunteer service assistant needed for Appalachian Community.  Help build a simple volunteer database, mail birthday cards, and assist with processing volunteer applications.  2-3 hours a week.  

Health services assistant needed for Appalachian Community.  Clean donated equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, and canes.  1-1.5 hours a week.

COMCorps is an AmeriCorps program administered by the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine Community Health Programs. By partnering with schools, government and non-profit agencies, and Ohio University, COMCorps and its twenty full time service members link local organizations and streamline the delivery of programs and services that promote health, prevent disease and improve access to medical care in the Athens County area. COMCorps supports programs that provide access to evidence based nutrition education, healthy fresh food, and preventative and primary health care services for children.

COMCorps service members serve an 11-month term packed with 1,700 hours of life-changing experiences as they serve others. Many of our COMcorps participants often go on to pursue careers in medicine and health care.

AmeriCorps Ohio Stream Restore Corps

Rural Action, a non­profit, community based organization has multiple positions available for 
AmeriCorps Ohio Stream Restore Corps volunteers. AmeriCorps is a national service program sponsored by 
the Corporation for National & Community Service and the Ohio Commission on Service and Volunteerism.
Positions begin August 10, 2013 and require 1700 hours of service over a 12 month period, provide a $1,000 
per month living allowance, healthcare, and childcare if income eligible. Outside employment or attendance 
at an institution of higher learning while serving is allowed. An end ­of ­service education award of $5,550.00 
is available at the completion of a term of service to assist with student loans payments or assist with future
