Work Design and Lean Methods Lab
Located in 294 Stocker, this lab provides opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience in applying a variety of traditional IE methods. Resources in the lab include adjustable Creform workstations, which students can configure for different operations, to consider both ergonomics and efficiency. A variety of materials are available to simulate manual assembly operations where work design principles can be applied.
The equipment in this lab is also used to demonstrate the application of lean principles. By having students simulate manufacturing operations, the impact of applying lean methods can be observed. This equipment is used in multiple classes, where lean methods are discussed.
When not in use as a laboratory, the room is available for students or groups in the ISE Program who wish to use it for meetings or work on group projects. If the room is locked, a key is available from 270 Stocker.
