Overview: This
course is an introduction to psychology dealing primarily with
learning, sensory processes, social and clinical psychology.
The course aims to present significant theories and findings
in the field of psychology, to acquaint the student with the
methods used by psychologists, and to show some applications
of psychological knowledge. |

material for this course is web-based. Instructor and students
communicate through e-mail. All assignments are submittd through
the course website.

The course consists of nine lessons, including three supervised
examinations. |

| Types
of Writing Assignments: The
course consists of nine lessons, including three supervised
examinations. Each of the six regular lessons requires students
to answer questions based on the readings in the textbook or
on experiments or case studies discussed in the course. |

Examinations:
There
will be three supervised examinations (one at the end of each
of the course's three units). Each examination will consist of multiple-choice questions, fill-in, short answer and short essay. The Final
Examination is not comprehensive.
If you reside near an Ohio University campus, you must take
your examination at the nearest campus. Others can arrange to
have their examinations proctored at another accredited college
or university or, if it is more convenient, at an accredited
local high school. Ohio University reserves the right to reject
a proposed examination supervisor. Detailed information about
examination procedures will be included with your enrollment
material.

Criteria: The
final grade will be determined as follows:

percentage score will be converted to a grade on the following
