examinations. Each lesson has a writing assignment consisting of a number of problems drawn from the reading of that lesson. Most assigned problems have partial solutions given in the textbook. |
|
EXAMINATIONS:
The course has two supervised examinations, each covering about half of the course content. Examinations consist of problems similar to those in the lesson writing assignments. Sample tests for practice are included in the course lessons just prior to the midcourse and final examinations.
Two hours is allowed for each examination. Students may bring and use a handheld calculator, but no books, notes, or other supplementary materials are permitted.
If
you reside near an Ohio University campus, you must take your
examination at the nearest campus. Others can arrange to have their
examinations proctored at another accredited college or university or,
if it is more convenient, at an accredited local high school. Ohio
University reserves the right to reject a proposed examination
supervisor. Detailed information about examination procedures will be
included with your enrollment material. Examinations may not be taken online nor by e-mail. |
GRADING
CRITERIA:
All course lessons and the two examinations are graded. The final grade is weighted as follows:
Average of writing assignments = 30 percent
Midcourse and final examinations = 35 percent each
The numerical average is converted to a letter grade on the following scale:
A- to A = 90-100 percent
B- to B = 80 - 89 percent
C- to C = 70 - 79 percent
D- to D = 60 - 69 percent
F = Below 60 percent
Plus and minus grades may be assigned at the discretion of
the instructor. |
