COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course takes a conceptual approach to the law of contracts and sales,
including the structure and process of the American legal system. Topics
covered include origins, nature, structure, functions, and procedures
of the American legal system with an emphasis on contract law.

NATURE OF THE EXAMINATION
The course covers Chapters 1-8 (The Legal Environment of Business), Chapters 9-18 (Contracts), Chapter 19 (Relationship of Principal and Agent), Chapters 23-24 (Sales), Chapter 43 (Employment Law), Chapter 46 (Environmental Law), and Chapter 47 (International Business Law). You will be responsible for the entire content of those chapters on the examination. Read each chapter carefully and use the Chapter Summaries, case studies, and end-of-chapter questions to help you prepare for the examination.
The examination will test both your knowledge of the concepts and the applications of the American legal system, especially as it pertains to laws of contracts and sales. It consists of multiple-choice questions worth 117 points and essay questions worth 93 points, for a total of 210 possible points. You will have three hours to complete the examination. All materials will be provided; you are not permitted to use books, notes, or supplementary aids.

GRADING CRITERIA
Your total points on the examination will be converted to a percent. The
final grade will be assigned on the following scale:
90 - 100 percent
= A
80 - 89 percent = B
70 - 79 percent = C
60 - 69 percent = D
Below 60 percent = F
