COURSE OVERVIEW: The course is an introduction to the functions of different levels of managers in organizations and their role in organizational effectiveness. E-PRINT OPTION
Students may use e-mail to submit lesson assignments, using any e-mail provider and any standard e-mail software. NUMBER OF LESSONS: The course has nine lessons, including an unsupervised midcourse assignment and a supervised final examination.
TYPES OF WRITING ASSIGNMENTS: The seven regular lessons cover 2-3 text chapters, and the assignments consist of multiple-choice questions, “ethical dilemma” problems for which students must choose a response and defend it, and an analysis of a short case study for which students must answer three questions.
EXAMINATIONS: Lesson 5 is an analysis assignment, which requires students to analyze material presented in the textbook and answer 10 questions about it. This is an unsupervised assignment with no time limit.

Lesson 9 is a supervised final examination. It consists of 100 multiple-choice questions covering all the material in the course. The questions are similar to those in the lesson writing assignments. Two hours is allowed to complete the examination, which must be taken without books, notes, or other supplementary materials.

If you reside near an Ohio University campus, you must take your examination at the nearest campus. Others can arrange to have their examinations proctored at another accredited college or university or, if it is more convenient, at an accredited local high school. Ohio University reserves the right to reject a proposed examination supervisor. Detailed information about examination procedures will be included with your enrollment material. Examinations may not be taken online nor by e-mail.
