X. THE EXAMINATION

The examination contains multiple-choice questions and is the same format as the FAA written exam.
To acquire a flight engineer rating, an applicant must possess knowledge in the above areas plus demonstrate expertise in calculating performance data based on the class rating for which he/she seeks. There are four basic classes, and this course prepares the applicant for the FAA written exam for each of them.

You will be allowed three hours to complete the examination. All materials will be provided; you are not permitted to use any textbooks, notes, or supplementary aids, except your flight computer and navigation plotter.

XI. GRADING SCALE

Your course grade will be based on your examination score as follows:

100 - 95% = A
94 - 91% = A-
90 - 88% = B+

87 - 85% = B
84 - 83% = B-
82-81% = C+

80 - 79% = C
78 - 77% = C-
76 - 75% = D+
74 - 73% = D
72 - 70% = D-
