Map and Directions to Campus
From the Northeast: Follow the best route to I-77 south. Take the first exit for Marietta, Ohio (Exit 6). Proceed to Rte. 7 south, which will combine with Rte. 50 West at Belpre. Exit at Rtes. 50 and 32 West and continue to Athens. Follow signs to Ohio University and exit at Rte. 682.
From northwest and central Ohio and points west: Follow the best route to Columbus and connect with Rte. 33, which can be reached from either I-270 or I-70 east. Travel east on Rte. 33 until you reach Athens. Follow signs to Ohio University and exit at Rte. 682 in Athens. (Do not exit at Rte. 682 in The Plains; stay on Rte. 33 until you come to the exit for Rte. 682 to Ohio University in Athens.)
From Cleveland: Travel south on I-71 to Columbus and follow the directions from northwest and central Ohio, or take I-77 south and follow the directions from northeast Ohio.
From Washington, D.C., and Maryland: Follow the best route to I-70 west. Connect with I-68 west and then follow I-79 south to Clarksburg, West Virginia. In Clarksburg, connect with Rte. 50 West to Athens. Exit at Rte. 682.
From southwest Ohio: Take State Rte. 32 east from Cincinnati to Athens. Follow signs to Ohio University and exit at Rte. 682.
From southeast Ohio and points southeast: Follow Rte. 33 west into Athens and exit at Rte. 682.
By air: Major airlines serve Port Columbus International Airport, near Columbus, and Wood County Airport, near Parkersburg, West Virginia. Ohio University's Bush Airport is located 12 miles from campus and is open to the public at all times. The airport operates a 4,200-foot lighted runway equipped with GPS, RNAV, ILS, LOC, and NDB.
