About International Education Week

International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs’ efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.

International Education Week (IEW) 2014 will be held from Saturday, November 15 through Thursday, November 20, 2014. This year’s IEW will also mark the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Center for International Studies, which began with African Studies in 1964.
