Welcome to the International Conference on Perpetual Pavement!
The Ohio Research Institute for Transportation and the Environment (ORITE) is hosting the International Conference on Perpetual Pavement 2009, which will provide a forum for agencies who have constructed perpetual pavements to share their experiences and for those who are considering construction to gain from these experiences. The conference emphasis will be on life cycle analysis, sustainability, and maintenance, though other topics relating to perpetual pavements will be welcomed. Topics will include: design verification and calibration, modeling, instrumentation, construction, and monitoring. Information provided at this conference will promote the proper design and construction of perpetual pavements. |
The conference will include the presentation of technical papers selected for the program and also special presentations by featured keynote speakers.
The first International Conference on Perpetual Pavement, held in 2006, brought together over 150 experts to discuss optimal design and construction approaches for asphalt pavements designed to have a lifespan of at least 40 years with minimal maintenance. Attendees arrived from 13 foreign countries ranging from Canada to Kazakhstan and from 33 states, including representatives from 19 state departments of transportation. To follow that success, the International Conference on Perpetual Pavement 2009 will be held at the same location, allowing attendees to catch up with developments in this fast-moving field.
