Physical therapy at the Student Health Service is provided by Ohio University Therapy Associates which is affiliated with the Ohio University School of Physical Therapy. Ohio University Therapy Associates staffs the Student Health Service with fully-licensed physical therapists and physical therapist assistants. Physical therapy treatment requires a prescription signed by a medical provider within the last 30 days. The staff at Hudson will call your insurance company and make you aware of your benefits and financial obligations associated with physical therapy service.
Physical therapy is prescribed by medical professionals for a variety of conditions, and our treatment goals are often based on improving movement and strength, decreasing pain, and helping patients return to their activities of choice. If you think physical therapy might be appropriate for your condition, discuss it with your medical professional. Ohio University Therapy Associates acts as a clinical learning site for graduate and undergraduate physical therapy students, so you will likely see students helping in the office and working with the professional therapy staff.
