Loan of Crutches and Canes
The Student Health Service maintains an inventory of various size crutches and knee braces, and we also have canes available for use by students if they are injured. There is certainly a possibility that injuries can occur while students are participating in the various intramural sports programs available on campus, and occasionally these injuries involve the legs. Students are provided a pair of crutches through both O'Bleness Memorial Hospital and the Student Health Service. Canes are only available through the Student Health Service.
These items are loaned to the student, you will be asked to sign a loan agreement and are asked to return the item before the end of the quarter. Students are sent reminder letters two weeks prior to the end of a quarter, so that you have enough time to return the item. Any student receiving a loaned item within the last two weeks is held to the next quarter. If an item is not returned the student is charged for that item. Crutches are $30.00 and canes are $5.00.
