Immunizations
The Occupational Health and Immunization office provides medical care to injured workers, immunizations as required for employment, travel or academic courses and TB skin tests for international students and those in health care or educational programs.

Does Ohio University require immunizations? Ohio University does not require immunizations for admittance to the university. The University does, however, recommend that you confirm the following immunizations: - Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR): Two doses of MMR at least 28 days apart after 12 months of age
- Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (DT, DTaP, DTP, or TD): Booster dose within the past 10 years
- Hepatitis B: Series of 3 doses (Students participating in programs related to health, education, or studying abroad, may be required to be immunized against Hepatitis A and B).
- Meningitis Vaccine (Menactra): College populations are considered at increased risk, including students living in residence halls.
These immunizations are all available in Hudson Health Center through the Student Health Service.
Important Information About Meningitis and Hepatitis B Ohio Revised Code Section 3345.85 for institutions of higher education requires that the institution maintain individual status records on meningococcal meningitis and Hepatitis B vaccinations for student living in on-campus housing. The Ohio University Residence and Dining Services Contract contains a section asking for the vaccination status of a student who will be living in a residence hall. A housing contract will not be accepted if this information is not completed.
When can I get immunizations? Immunizations are given on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, usually by appointment (740-593-4747). What about immunizations for overseas travel? Immunizations for overseas travel are offered and are based on the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines which are available here.
Are there charges for immunizations? Yes, the charges vary depending on the immunization. Please ask about the charges when you call to make an appointment.
How do I pay for immunizations? If you are a student, your insurance company will be billed for immunization charges plus an administration fee. OU employees, their family members (over 16 years of age) and others who receive immunizations at Hudson Health Center will be asked to pay by cash or check when the vaccines are administered.
