Gynecology (GYN) Clinic
The Gynecology (GYN) Clinic provides women with gynecological examinations which are recommended to occur annually. In addition to preventing or detecting health problems, the GYN exam is required prior to obtaining prescription contraceptives.
The annual exam consists of four parts: - a pap test for abnormal cervical cells
- a vaginal screening for bacterial infections
- a bimanual pelvic exam to detect abnormalities in the reproductive organs
- a breast exam
If you are experiencing a reproductive health problem, you can be seen by a health care provider without an appointment and without using the GYN Clinic. Simply visit the Student Health Service on the first floor of Hudson Health Center as you would for any other health problem.
GYN Exam Schedule Appointments for the GYN Clinic will be made for: - Mondays all day from 8:00 am to 11:30 am <Lunch> 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm
- Tuesday 8:00 am to 11:30 am and Thursday 9:00 am to 11:30 am.
- The clinics hours and times will vary over winter, spring, and summer breaks
- To schedule an appointment, call 593-1660 if you have been seen in the GYN Clinic before. If it is your first visit, make an appointment in person in rooms 235 or 117. You must pick up a packet before you can schedule an appointment.
Obtaining Prescription Contraceptives You can obtain prescription contraceptives (oral contraceptives, Depo Provera, Nuva ring, diaphragms, etc.) through Hudson Health Center in the following ways:
- If you already have a prescription, bring your written prescription to the pharmacy on the first floor of Hudson Health Center or have the prescription phoned into the pharmacy at 593-4738. The pharmacist will fill your prescription.
- If you have had a recent gynecological exam at a different medical facility, call 593-4730 or visit Hudson Health Center 116 and ask that they acquire your recent test results. Once your test results are received and reviewed, one of our physicians will prescribe contraceptives for you.
