Allergy Shots
The Student Health Service's Allergy Clinic, located in Hudson Health Center, administers allergy injections to students who have previously had allergy testing and already have their allergy serums. You can have your allergy serums mailed directly to us from your allergist, or your can bring your serums to the clinic when you come in for your first visit. We store allergy serum in a temperature-monitored refrigerator. We work closely with your allergy practitioner at home. We will follow their instructions and allergy protocol.
Location
The Allergy Clinic is located at Hudson Health Center 140A, 740-597-1283 or 740-593-4741.

Appointments
Appointments are made for allergy injections during the above days and hours. The first week of every quarter is very hectic for students because sometimes they are unsure of their schedule and therefore an appointment is not needed. After the initial visit of the quarter, an appointment can be made at the same day and time for the remainder of the quarter.
Procedure to follow
If you have never been to the Student Health Center before, you may check in at the main lobby or come directly to Room 140A. If you are an established patient (this means you have had at least one other visit to the Student Health Service), you can go to Room 140A and fill out a blue registration card. The initial visit may take longer because we have additional paper work that must be completed. After you are given the allergy injection, we require that you stay for observation for at least 20 minutes after the injection and then have your arm checked by a nurse. Students must sign a letter of understanding regarding the observation period. Leaving prior to the 20 minutes will be considered leaving against medical advice and the possibility that you will be referred to another provider for these services.
Are there Charges for allergy shots?
Yes, there is a charge for this service. Typically a student patient will receive one, two or three allergy injections per visit. The charges are $3.00 for the first injection, $5.00 for two injections, and $6.00 for three injections. Additional injections increase the cost by $2.00 for each one.
Students are billed on their university account. Payment can be made directly at Chubb Hall, or it can be paid with other university fees when the student is notified that their electronic fee bill is available. If you would like to submit these charges to your insurance company, you can stop at the Business Office, Hudson Health Center Room 111, to receive a statement with the appropriate codes for medical insurance companies.
