Welcome! Thank you for visiting the Ohio University Student Health Service (SHS) website.
Many of the services offered through SHS are provided on a "walk-in" basis. These include medical care, urgent care, allergy shots, immunizations, x-ray, laboratory, and pharmacy. Although you will usually be seen on a first-come, first-served basis, urgent and emergency situations will be handled immediately. Appointments are required for orthopedic clinic visits, gynecology clinic annual exams (gynecology clinic is currently booked for winter quarter 2008, appointments for spring quarter 2008 may be made in March), psychiatry visits, and physical therapy. Appointments are suggested for allergy shots and immunizations.
There is no charge for primary medical care, psychiatry services, and some laboratory testing provided at SHS. The support for these services comes from the general fee. There are charges for x-ray, laboratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, immunizations, sports medicine, orthopedic supplies and orthopedic surgery visits.
