Health Insurance Billing
Beginning fall of 2008, the Hudson Health Center will file all insurance plans. We will bill your health insurance companies for all medical services provided at the health center. Please note the following important information about charges, health insurance, and health insurance information:
- The Hudson Health Center is in the process of contracting with insurance companies in order to bill your health insurance for services you receive. We will bill all insurance companies whether they are considered in-network or out-of-network.
- You’re responsible for a co-pay/co-insurance unless you’re enrolled in the WellBeing Plan, which may reduce your co-pay/co-insurance (www.ohio.edu/wellbeing). You are also responsible for services not covered by your insurance plan. These will be charged to your student account.
- If you need treatment or services outside the scope of the Hudson Health Center, we’ll assist in obtaining referrals to other specialists or hospitals. You are responsible for all costs incurred outside the health center. Your insurance plan may cover all or part of these costs.
Bring your Health Insurance Card
We want to bill your insurance company for services, not your student account, so we will ask for your insurance information every time you visit the health center. We’ll work with you to assist in getting the required information, but you can help by making sure you have a valid health insurance card & student ID. We will also need information about the policy holder such as date of birth, Social Security number, address, telephone, and place of employment.
