Town Hall Meetings OPERS & STRS

Dear Faculty and Staff:

Pension reform recommendations for the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) and the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) have been approved by the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate and signed into law by Governor Kasich. The reforms mandated by the law could be in effect as early as January 7, 2013. These reforms may have an impact on your retirement benefits.

University Human Resources has arranged for OPERS and STRS representatives to hold a series of Town Hall meetings on the reforms. The meetings are scheduled as follows:

OPERS: October 9, 2012

• 10:00 am – 11:00 am, Baker University Center, Room 240
• 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm, Baker University Center, Room 240
• 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Baker University Center, Room 240
  

STRS:  October 10, 2012

• 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm, Baker University Center, Room 242
• 5:10 pm – 6:10 pm, Human Resource and Training Center, Room 141

If you are unable to attend one of the meetings listed above, please note that STRS and OPERS also offer Town Hall Webinar Meetings on a weekly basis (accessible at the web links below):

STRS webinars are every Wednesday from 5:00 – 6:00 pm. Registration for each webinar is limited to 100 people. Registration can be taken until 4:30 p.m. on the day of the session.
