Subject: Exclusive Home Delivery Reminder
On July 1, 2009, the University implemented an Exclusive Home Delivery prescription drug program with Express Scripts for Faculty, Classified Staff, Administrative Staff, and members of the FOP union.
The following information regarding the Exclusive Home Delivery prescription drug program is being provided to you as a reminder on how to properly use this service as it may impact how you can obtain certain prescriptions.
The Exclusive Home Delivery Program pertains to maintenance medications, or prescription drugs for ongoing conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol issues, and etc. Not all prescriptions are considered maintenance medications. To determine whether your prescription falls under the Exclusive Home Delivery Program, contact Express Scripts at 1-866-515-1442. A list of maintenance prescriptions is also available on University Human Resources web site: http://www.ohio.edu/hr/benefits/healthcare/upload/Express_Scripts

Under the Exclusive Home Delivery Program, employees can fill a prescription of a maintenance medication only 2 times at a retail pharmacy such as CVS, Wal-Mart, or Kroger. After that, the University's health plan will cover the medication only if it is ordered through the Express Scripts Mail Order Pharmacy, regardless if you have refills left at your local pharmacy.
Once you fill your maintenance medication 2 times at a retail pharmacy, you must use the Express Scripts Mail Order Pharmacy. If you fill your maintenance medication a 3rd time at a retail pharmacy, you will be charged the full cost of your prescription.
To use the Mail Order Pharmacy follow these steps:
- Contact your doctor and request a new prescription. The prescription should be written for a 90 day supply with refills.
- Create an account online at www.express-scripts.com/services/members/time
- Once your account is created, select the "Fill a new prescription" option and print a mail order form.
- Submit your prescription by mail, or ask your doctor to fax your prescription and mail order form. Your doctor can fax your prescription to 800-636-9494. For mailing, Express Scripts' address is included on your mail order form.
- Allow 10-14 days for receipt of your prescription.
Refills can be ordered by phone, by mail or at www.express-scripts.com. With each refill, you will again get up to a 3-month supply of medication and free home delivery. Refills are mailed to your home within 5 days of a refill request.
If you have questions or need assistance, the Express Scripts Mail Order Pharmacy is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Call 1-866-515-1442.
We would like to remind you that if you have issues with Express Scripts that you have not been able to solve after contacting their customer service unit you may contact the Benefits Office in Human Resources for assistance.
