March 16, 2009 Dear Ohio University Faculty and Staff,
Last week, I sent you a memo detailing the university's decision to change the status of Holzer Clinic in our employee PPO Health Plan.
Following further discussion, Ohio University and Holzer Clinic reached a verbal one-year agreement that enables the university to maintain Holzer Clinic as a Tier 1 provider within its PPO health plan through June 30, 2010.
As you may already know, Tier 1 providers are preferred members of the health-care plan. Employees pay less for office visits, co-payments and co-insurance for Tier 1 providers than they do for Tier 2 providers covered under the PPO plan.
Ohio University and Holzer Clinic will continue discussions to determine if a longer arrangement is feasible.
