Halloween Posting Extended to 5pm Friday

is seeking Bargaining Unit and Classified employees to work on October 26 and 27, 2007 during the Halloween weekend.  The hours of work will be approximately 9:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. each night (no split shifts).  Employees may elect either overtime pay or compensatory time. Overtime opportunities will be assigned based on seniority.  There will be a limited number of overtime opportunities each night. If you are regularly scheduled to work Friday or Saturday (as part of your work week), you may not schedule vacation or comp time to perform this work.

Employees are responsible for registering on the sign-up sheet in University Human Resources, 169 West Union Street, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 10- FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12; registration will not be accepted after 5pm on Friday, October 12. If you are not available to come to Human Resources to sign up, you may e-mail required information to sheppard@ohio.edu Required information includes: Your Name, Your Employee ID Number, Current Work Department, Current Work Schedule, Current Work and Home Phone Numbers, First Preference of Night to Work, If you are available Both and/or Either Nights.  When you register, Human Resources will need to know your department and your regular work schedule (example:  work Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.).   When signing up, please indicate preference of night to work.  If, after making the initial assignments, there is additional work available the additional work will be offered by seniority. University Human Resources is not responsible for sign up sheets in individual departments.

You will be notified by University Human Resources office of your assignment by letter sent to your home mailing address.  (There will be a limited number of overtime opportunities and overtime will be awarded based on seniority/hire date.)

The duties will consist mainly of “building watch,” which includes monitoring entrances to residence halls and other campus buildings and locations. There may be several Rover assignments each night that entail relieving building watchers during their break time. A short list of available employees for last minute call-in will be provided to each green for each night.  All assignments will require tact and patience in dealing with the public. You will be required to stand and walk during this shift and may involve inclement weather.
