Re:    Total Compensation Update for Fiscal Year 2013

The following information relates to Classified Staff and Administrative Staff total compensation for fiscal year 2013.

As previously announced, a 2.5% raise pool for Classified Staff and Administrative Staff will be implemented for fiscal year 2013. The Classified Staff and Administrative Staff pay structures will remain unchanged. In addition, we are pleased to communicate that health insurance plan premiums and annual parking fees will remain unchanged for fiscal year 2013.

Classified Staff will receive an across-the-board 2.5% pay increase. The increase will become effective July 1, 2012 which is the first day of the pay period in which July 1 is included. The increase will be reflected in July 27, 2012 pay checks.  For fiscal year 2013, Classified Staff with salaries in excess of their pay grade maximum (“overmax”) will receive the 2.5% pay increase in their base pay. This exception to the pay grade maximum rules in policy 40.055 (Pay Determination for Classified Staff) will remain in place for the duration of the COMPENSATION 2014 project.

Pay increases for Administrators are tied to performance and must be within a range of 0.5% to 7.0%. The Provost (or planning unit head for non-academic units) must approve merit increases outside a range of 0.5% to 7.0% range. The effective date of pay increases for Administrators is July 1, and increases will be reflected in the July 30 monthly pay.

Health Insurance premiums will remain unchanged for fiscal year 2013. Health insurance premiums are based on salary and family size.  While premiums remain unchanged, the salary brackets utilized to determine premiums have been updated.  For more information regarding health insurance premiums and general information, visit http://www.ohio.edu/hr/benefits/index.cfm.

The $150 annual fee for parking will remain unchanged as well. For more information regarding staff parking visit http://www.facilities.ohiou.edu/parking/fs_permits.htm.
