The Employee & Labor Relations staff serves as advisors on labor and employee relations issues including:
Negotiate collective bargaining agreements.
Interpret and administer personnel policies and collective bargaining agreements.
Provide disciplinary process consultation.
Provide crisis & threat management.
Manage complaints, disciplinary issues & resolutions.
Conduct fact-finding investigations.
Coordinate criminal investigations.
Assist in investigating harassment/discriminatory complaints.
Manage employee grievance process.
Attend termination & suspension meetings.
Attend unemployment claims/compensation hearings.
Manage performance improvement plans.
Coordinate, review & train in FMLA compliance
Serve as subject matter expert for training.
Provide supervisory training on policies, employee management and performance management process.
Notify employees of training opportunities and conduct training on various compliance issues.
Coordinate reduction in force planning.
Coordinate seniority and bumping rights.
Coordinate layoffs.
Administration of Union release time & monitoring of union business.
Manage employment and personnel issues for employees.
Assist in candidate interview selection process.
Respond and advise on subpoena requests.
Notify OU Card Services IT, etc., of last day of employment.
Collect university property (including ID cards from employee & family members).
Contact appropriate offices for cancellation of building & network access
Develop/update policies and procedures documents/manuals and ensure appropriate placement for accessibility.
Conduct and document exit interviews.
Coordinate required and ad-hoc commujnications for UHR
Responds/coordinates responses to audit requests.
Manage HR-related files (both hard copies and OnBase)
