Who do I contact if . . .


I have a problem with a laundry machine: Contact the Residential Housing office by emailing housing@ohio.edu. Please provide the machine id number, the location, and explain the problem.


I have a problem with my Cable TV: See the troubleshooting guide found on the CATVision website. If you are unable to resolve the problem, file an online work request from the CATVision site.


I have a problem with the internet / network connection: Contact the OIT Service Desk at 740.593.1222

I need assistance outside of normal business hours: Call the on call apartment manager at 740.590.8979

Am I allowed to have an air-conditioner?

Yes, air-conditioners are permitted within the apartment provided that the guidelines are followed.

  • A tenant wishing to have a privately purchased air-conditioner installed in their apartment must provide documentation that their unit will not exceed 6,000 BTU.
  • All air-conditioners must be installed and removed by University maintenance personnel. Under no circumstances should tenants attempt to install air-conditioners themselves.
  • The tenant will be required to pay an installation fee and a yearly utility surcharge.
  • Upon termination of the lease, maintenance personnel will remove the air-conditioner unit for the tenant at no additional charge.


Can I have a pet?

No, pets are not permitted within University Apartments


Does a security force routinely monitor the apartment complexes?

Yes, Ohio University Police Department routinely drives through the premises. In addition, our residential staff are always on the look out for any suspicious activity.


Am I allowed to hang clothes outside to dry?

No, clotheslines are not permitted on the premises.


Can I sublet my apartment?

No. Subletting the apartment is not permissible, but tenants may seek office approval to change roommates on the lease agreement.


Can I bring my own washer, dryer, and dishwasher?

No, additional appliances are not permitted. A penalty and lease termination may occur if a tenant is found in violation of this policy. A laundry facility is available on the premises.
