Scholarly Interests

Dr. Perkins' research interests include urban political ecology, urban political economy, neoliberalism, the state, and governance, agency of nonhuman organisms, social and environmental justice.


Selected Publications

Dr. Perkins' publications include "Gramsci in green: Neoliberal hegemony through urban forestry and the potential for a political ecology of praxis" (2011), "Green Spaces of Self-Interest Within Shared Urban Governance," (2010), and "Getting Beyond the Plastinated Political Economy of 'Late Modern Cannibalism'" (2010).
