Scholarly Interests

Dr. Buckley's research interests include environmental, historical, urban environments, mining landscapes. He is interested in the thread that knits present-day environmental problems to past decisions, practices, and processes. 


Selected Publications

Dr. Buckley's publications include the books North American Odyssey: Historical Geographies for the Twenty-First Century, Mountains of Injustice: Social and Environmental Justice in Appalachia, and America's Conservation Impulse: A Century of Saving Trees in the Old Line State (2010), among others.
