Graduation

You must maintain at least a 2.0 (C) grade point average to be eligible for graduation. You are responsible for meeting requirements for your particular degree.

Before you can graduate, you must complete a graduation application and pay the application fee (currently US$50 for either a bachelor's or an associate's degree) by the deadline for the quarter in which you plan to graduate. The deadline for applying is listed in the academic calendar.

Once you have applied for graduation, your college well check to make sure that you have fulfilled all degree requirements. If you are eligible, the university enters your college, major , degree, and the date the degree was granted on your permanent academic record.

If you apply for graduation but fail to meet the requirements, you may reapply to graduate during a later quarter. The fee for re-application is US$5.

For a bachelor's degree, you must have a minimum of 192 quarter hours of credit. An associate's degree requires a minimum of 96 quarter hours. You also must meet all college and General Education requirements.

Ohio University holds an annual commencement at the end of spring quarter (early June). All students are encouraged to attend the commencement ceremony. If you are interested in attending, the degree program administrator can provide information about ordering a cap and gown for the ceremony.
