So you want to get in on the fun? First let's look at why one would want to join POWER. You learn a lot about health issues that are extremely valuable to yourself and others. You get a chance to make lots of new friends and meet all sorts of people. It is a very productive group that works on important issues. Also, it looks awesome on a resume!
To become a POWER member, you must submit an application and attend an interview. Applications are accepted winter quarter only. You can pick these up at Health Promotion, 339 Baker University Center. Based on your application and interview, you may then be selected from a group of applicants to become a POWER member. A class will be held the following spring quarter in which you must enroll. The class meets for one hour on Monday-Thursday and is worth 4 credit hours. Throughout the quarter, you will learn everything there is to know about POWER and health issues that face our campus. Toward the end of the quarter you will take a National Certification Peer Health Educator test that will be submitted to Bacchus and Gamma. And presto! You are now an official peer educator! You will start your POWER programs the following Fall Quarter.
