Graduate Student Housing
Graduate students have two choices of where to live in Athens: 1) campus dorms/apartments or 2) off-campus housing/apartments.

On-Campus Living
While most dorms on campus house undergraduate students, there are some geared toward older students and graduate students. The Wolfe Street Apartments (pictured above) are the only campus apartments that are strictly for married, graduate, or older students. However, Bromley Hall Apartments and East Green and New South Green (dorm numbers #122- #136) dorms also provide pleasant environments for graduate students. All campus living units are walking distance to any point on campus or the uptown area of Athens.
Off-Campus Living
Most graduate students live in off-campus apartments or housing. Athens offers hundreds of options, from uptown apartments, to neighborhood houses, to nice apartment complexes. Rent is typically charged per quarter (summer, fall, winter, spring) and usually begins around early June. The average cost for one person per quarter in a house is around $1,200; in an apartment it is around $1,600. If you look hard, you can find houses that cost under $1,000 per person per quarter. However, one bedroom apartments can be over $2,000 per person per quarter in some areas. Most off-campus living units are walking distance to any point on campus or the uptown area of Athens. Transportation to campus and uptown Athens is often provided by off-campus apartment complexes. Athens and OU also provide many different types of free or affordable transportation options.
