The Graduate Student Senate (GSS) is now accepting Candidate Applications for 2008-2009 Executive Officer and College Senator positions.
Getting involved is an excellent way to make a difference in the graduate community and gain valuable professional experience by working on important issues such as graduate research, healthcare, academic and professional development, and international student concerns.

How to Apply
- Fill out a Candidate Application Form by visiting the GSS website at www.ohio.edu/gss and clicking on ‘Election’ and submit it by the deadline.
- You must complete and sign the Candidate Application Form, obtain the signature at least five other current Athens-campus graduate students who support your candidacy. If you are running for a College Senator position, these signatures must be from people within your respective College, Center for International Studies, or IIP.
- You may run independently or as a member of a Party (a group of at least two candidates running together). If you are running as a member of a Party, a member must also download and submit the Party Affiliation Form by the deadline posted below. The form is available from www.ohio.edu/gss by clicking on ‘Election’. All members of the Party must submit their own respective Candidate Application Forms.
Deadlines
Return your completed application to the front desk of the McKee House, which houses the Office of Graduate Student Services and Graduate Studies. Do not return applications to the GSS office.
All applications must be received by 5:00pm on Wednesday, April 30th, 2008.
Campaigning begins Thursday, May 1st, 2008.
The election will be held on Thursday, May 15th, 2008.
Winners will be sworn in at the last GSS meeting on Monday, May 19th, 2008 at 7:00pm in the Walter Hall Governance Room.
