On an average day, the Ohio University Convocation Center's claims to fame include its basketball and volleyball games. On April 11, however, the athletes will surrender their home court advantage to art installations, scientific studies and a flying car—or two.
For the past ten years, hundreds of undergraduate, graduate and medical students have gathered at the Convo to present their original work at Ohio University's annual Student Research and Creative Activity Expo. Projects have included documentary filmmaking, robotic lawn mowers, innovative theater costumes and presentations on the latest findings from medicine, astrophysics, education, and environmental science. Last spring, more than 550 students participated in the event. The atmosphere and success of the expo continue to bring students and faculty judges back for more, year after year.
