Admission Requirements
• Minimum TOEFL 550 or IELTS 6.5 for admission
• GRE, no set minimum
• Prefer students have completed at least 27 quarter hours of psychology at the undergraduate level, including one course in statistics and one in experimental research design
• Overall undergraduate grade-point average of at least 3.0 (B) and an average of at least 3.3 (B+) in psychology. These minimum GPAs are higher for clinical applicants. Applicants who have completed some graduate work should have a grade-point average of at least 3.4 in that work.
• Additional application requirements: personal statement describing special interests and professional goals. Include a rank-ordered list of three faculty members with whom you most want to work.

Financial Aid Opportunities
• Graduate Assistantships, Graduate Recruitment Scholarships, Fellowships (a few available to outstanding students). In recent years, all graduate students who requested full support for the four to five years of their doctoral study received it.
• Average Amount: GA: tuition waiver plus $12,600 stipend for the nine-month school year and one of the two five-week summer sessions. Fellowships: up to $15,000

The Department of Psychology is dedicated to conducting cutting-edge research and to offering outstanding educational opportunities. Recently, the Department of Psychology was honored by being one of only two departments chosen by Ohio University to receive special enhancement funds under the Board of Regents Investment Component of Performance Funding. We will use these funds to greatly expand our research and training opportunities in clinical and health psychology.
