• Graduate certificates in Womens’ Studies or Contemporary History may be earned in conjuction with the MA degree

• 22 Full-time and 3 Visiting Professors: 125 masters students

Admission Requirements
• Minimum TOEFL 550/212/80 or IELTS 6.5
• Transcript review emphasizes performance in core courses in addition to overall performance
• GRE, no set minimum
• 3.0 GPA
• Applicants are expected to have a minimum of 24 quarter hours of undergraduate work in political science or the equivalent. Exceptions can be made for those with coursework in closely related fields/practical political or administrative experience
• Students may be admitted on a “conditional” basis which means they will be required to maintain a “B” during the first 15 hours of coursework

Application Deadlines
Rolling admissions, but Fall quarter recommended. Deadline of February 15 to be considered for financial assistance the following fall quarter

• Awards are based on qualifications, not need.  First offers typically made in March to the top-ranking applicants at that time, with a second round of offers in late spring.

Typical Amount
• GRS: $1,800 stipend plus partial tuition scholarship
• GA: $9,180 stipend plus tuition scholarship

Additional Information
Graduates of the MA program often go on to work toward a J.D. or Ph.D. at leading law and graduate schools, while others go into careers in government service, politics, journalism, communications, business, and teaching. The Master of Public Administration is a professional degree that includes a public affairs internship or practicum. The program is intended to prepare students for careers in government service or non-profit administration.
