  • Civil Engineering
  • Industrial & Manufacturing Systems Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering

AVERAGE TIME FOR COMPLETION OF DEGREE: 5 years
 
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

  • GRE, no set minimum 
  • Minimum TOEFL 550/213/80 or IELTS 6.5
  • Master degree in engineering or a related field such as physics

  • Research plan/personal statement

TYPES: There are six research associate (RA) positions (2 in each of the degree tracks given above). Three of the RA positions are awarded to new students and 3 are awarded to continuing or new students. Also, several faculty in each of the degree track areas have external supported research that supports several students each year.

AVERAGE AMOUNT: $14,000 per academic year

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Students in the program are required to take core work in at least two engineering departments. Graduates of the program are well prepared for research positions in industry or to assume faculty roles in colleges and universities.
