• For the technical track, program is ideal for those desiring to pursue networking careers in Information Technology (e.g. in corporate networking), telecommunications service providers (e.g. Sprint, Cable & Wireless, ISPs), equipment vendors (e.g. Cisco, Nokia) or major consulting firms (e.g. Accenture). Course electives include such topics as Internet Engineering, Network Management and Design, Network Theory, and Network Project Management.

• For the policy track, program is ideal for those pursuing careers in telecommunications economic development, international telecommunications, and regulatory policy making. Course electives include such courses as Competition and Market Structure in Network Industries, International Communication Networks, and Communication and Economic Development.

• Student chooses to culminate degree with thesis, comprehensive exam, or professional project. A number of international students obtain optional internships with US industry. Students who elect comprehensive exam or project can finish in one calendar year, however thesis election typically takes longer.
