The Patton School of Education's Department of Recreation and Sport Pedagogy at Ohio University is sponsoring this exciting winter study abroad experience to the adventure and eco-tourism capital of Latin America, Costa Rica.
Students will learn about the seven principles of ecotourism according to Martha Honey's book "Ecotourism and Sustainable Development: Who Owns Paradise?" Students will also engage in reflective reading and writing about the ecotourism industry in Costa Rica.

Students who will be on probation at any point during the program for a judicial offense that took place less than a calendar year from the program start date may not study abroad. Click here to read the entire judicial policy.
Applicants must be matriculated OHIO students. Non-OHIO applicants must have successfully completed high school or its equivalent.
