After graduating in June 2001, I was recruited by PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Business Recovery Services division. In the summer of 2002, this division was spun-off and sold to FTI Consulting, Inc. Through this position, I have worked around the United States on numerous corporate bankruptcy, restructuring and litigation cases, including WorldCom and LTV Steel. My current engagement is with The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio. I have been on this project since January 2003 and have assisted with the refinancing of a $3.3 Billion credit agreement, the loan compliance of these new agreements, and most recently, the turnaround of the North America Tire business. For this engagement, I have worked with individuals from Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia and have traveled to and trained staff in Singapore, Brussels and Luxembourg. So far, it has been an amazing experience! I have seen the inter-workings of some of today’s largest corporations, spoken with their leaders, and traveled around the world. This insight has provided me with an understanding of fundamentals needed to either improve a struggling business or run a successful one. Certainly, my experiences with the GLC gave me the confidence to travel abroad (often alone) and meet with my international clients. I even rented my first car in Luxembourg to drive to a meeting Brussels! Without a doubt, my experiences in the GLC helped guide me through these adventures. Most importantly, I made some amazing friends while in the GLC and keep in touch with them still today. They are a very important part of my life, and I’m proud to know all of them.
