Dr. Rita Colwell
Widely respected environmental microbiologist, educator and a former director of the National Science Foundation, Rita Colwell is widely recognized as one of this century’s most influential voices in science, technology, and policy regarding water and health. She has bridged advances in science and technology, focusing on crafting solutions to provide clean drinking water and to protect human and ecosystem health. She even helped to create and lead the study of bioinformatics.
