2013-2014 Meal Periods/Schedule


Dining Service Schedule 2013-2014

 

The number of Dining Halls that open during holidays, Closing and Opening periods will be based on past records and anticipated demand as determined by Culinary Services.


Fall Semester 2013
The first day of the Meal Plan for Fall Semester 2012 is lunch on August 22. Meal Plans will be pro-rated based on the number of days that the Dining Courts/Halls are open that week.


The last meal for Fall Semester 2013 is dinner on Friday, December 13. Meal Plans will be pro-rated based on the number of days that the Dining Courts/Halls are open that week.


Thanksgiving Break

Culinary Services venues will close after lunch service on Tuesday, November 26. Nelson Court will open for dinner on Sunday, December 1.

Fall Semester Finals (December 9-13)

Dining Courts/Halls will close after dinner on Friday, December 13 and will remain closed until Sunday, January 12.

Spring Semester 2013

The first day of the Meal Plan for Spring Semester 2013 will be brunch on Sunday, January 12. Meal Plans will be pro-rated based on the number of days that the Dining Courts/Halls are open that week.

Spring Break (March 1-9, 2014)
Dining Courts/Halls close after lunch on Friday, February 28 and will remain closed through March 8. Meals will begin with brunch on Sunday, March 9.

 

The last meal of Spring Semester will be lunch on Saturday, May 3. Meal Plans will be pro-rated based on the number of days that the Dining Courts/Halls are open that week. 


Flex points expire on Saturday, May 3


Meal Periods

Culinary Services offers 34 meal periods. This gives students a total of 34 opportunities during the meal week to use their Meal Plan. Of the meal periods listed below, only one meal may be used during each meal period except for those on the Flex 14 and Flex 20 meal plans. There are a total of 5 meal periods each day, Monday through Saturday, and 4 meal periods on Sunday.

Below is the list of meal periods. Each dining facility has its own operational hours and may not be open for the duration of each meal period. Please go to Locations and Operating Hours for meal times.

 

Only one meal may be used during any of these time periods if holding the regular 10, 14 and 20 meal plans. Flex 14 and Flex 20 meal plans may use more than one meal during any meal period.

  • PERIOD 1: Breakfast: Mon-Fri. (Hot Breakfast) 7:00am - 9:15am or (Continental) 9:15am – 10:30am (Only one meal permitted between 7:00am and 10:30am) Breakfast: Saturday 8:30am – 10:00am
  • PERIOD 2: Lunch: Mon-Sat. 10:30am – 1:30pm (Please Note: Only Shively Grab 'N Go is open at 10:30am)
  • PERIOD 3: Late Lunch: Mon-Fri 1:30pm – 4:00pm (Grab 'N Go’s - Monday-Friday) Late Lunch: Nelson Sun-Sat 1:30-2:00 p.m, Shively Mon-Fri 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
  • PERIOD 4: Dinner: Sun-Sat 4:00pm – 7:00pm
  • PERIOD 5: Late Dinner: Sun-Thurs 7:00pm – 10:00pm (Boyd Grab 'N Go - Mon-Thu 7:00-9:00pm; Shively Grab 'N Go- Mon-Thu 7:00-10:00pm, Shively Mon-Thu 7:00 - 8:30 p.m., Nelson Sun - Sat 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.

The meal periods were increased to offer more options and flexibility in students’ class, work and social calendars.

 

Depending on the number of meal plan days available during the first and the last week of each semester, meal plans may be pro-rated if the meal plan week is less than 7 days; a standard meal plan week is Sunday through Saturday. The number of meals that a student is given will be reduced according to the number days in a shortened Meal Plan week.
