2015-2016 Meal Periods/Schedule


Our team is committed to serving students throughout the year. The number of Dining Courts/Halls that open during holidays and closing/opening periods is based on past records and anticipated demand as determined by the Culinary Services team.
 

Meal Plan Pro-Ration Schedule

FALL SEMESTER 2015

The first day of the meal plan for fall semester 2015 will be lunch on August 20
Meal Plans will be pro-rated (divided evenly) as follows:

  • Flex 20 and Traditional 20: 8 meals

  • Flex 14 and Traditional 14: 5 meals (2.67 days x 2 meals/day)

  • Traditional 10: 4 meals (2.67 x 1.43 meals/day)
     

THANKSGIVING

The last meal before Thanksgiving will be lunch on Tuesday, November 24.  West 82 Food Court (1st Floor, Baker University Center) will be open limited hours beginning with dinner on Tuesday, November 24 through Sunday lunch November 29 (West 82 will accept cash, Bobcat Cash, Flex Points, and credit cards). Nelson Court will re-open for dinner on Sunday, November 29. 
Meal Plans will be pro-rated (divided evenly) for week of Nov. 22-28:

  • Flex 20 and Traditional 20:  7 meals

  • Flex 14 and Traditional 14:  5 meals (2.67 days x 2 meals/day)

  • Traditional 10: 4 meals (2.67 x 1.43 meals/day)
     

Meal Plans will be pro-rated (divided evenly) for week of Nov. 29 - Dec. 5:

  • Flex 20 and Traditional 20:  19 meals

  • Flex 14 and Traditional 14:  13 meals (6.67 days x 2 meals/day)

  • Traditional 10: 10 meals (6.67 x 1.43 meals/day)
     

FALL FINALS WEEK/WINTER BREAK 2015

The last meal for Fall Semester 2015 will be dinner on Friday, December 11
Meal Plans will be pro-rated (divided evenly) as follows:

  • Flex 20 and Traditional 20: 17 meals

  • Flex 14 and Traditional 14: 12 meals (6 days x 2 meals/day)

  • Traditional 10: 9 meals (6 x 1.43 meals/day)

 

SPRING SEMESTER 2016

The first day of the meal plan for Spring Semester 2016 will be lunch on Sunday, January 10.  No Meal Plans will be pro-rated during this time.


SPRING BREAK 2016

The last meal before Spring Break begins will be lunch on Friday, February 26. The first meal after Spring Break will be lunch on Sunday, March 6. 
Meal Plans will be pro-rated as follows week before Spring Break (Feb 21-Feb 27):

  • Flex 20 and Traditional 20: 16 meals

  • Flex 14 and Traditional 14: 11 meals (5.67 days x 2 meals/day)

  • Traditional 10: 8 meals (5.67 x 1.43 meals/day)


Meal Plans will not be pro-rated for the week after Spring Break.
 

SPRING FINALS WEEK/SUMMER BREAK 2016

The last meal of Spring Semester 2016 will be dinner on Friday, April 29
Meal Plans will be pro-rated as follows week of Apr. 24 – April 30:

  • Flex 20 and Traditional 20:  17 meals

  • Flex 14 and Traditional 14:  12 meals (6 days x 2 meals/day)

  • Traditional 10: 9 meals (6 x 1.43 meals/day)


All Flex Points expire on Saturday, April 30 at 4 p.m.
 

Meal Periods

Culinary Services offers 34 meal periods. This gives students a total of 34 opportunities during the meal week to use their Meal Plan. Of the meal periods listed below, only one meal may be used during each meal period except for those on the Flex 14 and Flex 20 meal plans. There are a total of 5 meal periods each day, Monday through Saturday, and 4 meal periods on Sunday.
 

Below is the list of meal periods. Each dining facility has its own operational hours and may not be open for the duration of each meal period. Please go to Locations and Operating Hours for meal times.

 

Only one meal may be used during any of these time periods if holding the regular 10, 14 and 20 meal plans. Flex 14 and Flex 20 meal plans may use more than one meal during any meal period.

  • PERIOD 1: Breakfast: Mon-Fri. (Hot Breakfast) 7:00am - 9:15am or (Continental) 9:15am – 10:30am (Only one meal permitted between 7:00am and 10:30am) Breakfast: Saturday 8:30am – 10:00am
  • PERIOD 2: Lunch: Mon-Sat. 10:30am – 1:30pm (Please Note: Only Shively Grab N Go is open at 10:30am)
  • PERIOD 3: Late Lunch: Mon-Fri 1:30pm – 4:00pm (Grab N Go’s - Monday-Friday) Late Lunch: Nelson Sun-Sat 1:30-2:00 p.m, Shively Mon-Fri 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
  • PERIOD 4: Dinner: Sun-Sat 4:00pm – 7:00pm
  • PERIOD 5: Late Dinner: Sun-Thurs 7:00pm – 10:00pm (Boyd Grab N Go - Mon-Thu 7:00-9:00pm; Shively Grab N Go- Mon-Thu 7:00-10:00pm, Shively Mon-Thu 7:00 - 8:30 p.m., Nelson Sun - Sat 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
     

The meal periods were increased to offer more options and flexibility in students’ class, work and social calendars.

 

Depending on the number of meal plan days available during the first and the last week of each semester, meal plans may be pro-rated if the meal plan week is less than 7 days; a standard meal plan week is Sunday through Saturday. The number of meals that a student is given will be reduced according to the number days in a shortened Meal Plan week.
