Off-Campus Meal Plan Options

Living off Campus? You can still have access to the variety, convenience, and fresh items offered by Ohio University Culinary Services with an off-campus meal plan.

 

Meal plan sign-ups for 2012-13 academic year begin June 1, 2012.

 

Meal plans start at $231 per semester, plus, you can change meal plans on a semesterly basis until you find the one that best suits your needs. If you are living off campus, leave the cooking and cleaning to us. Try one of our meal plans:


destination dining

For the 2012-13 academic year, the Destination Dining Plan will offer $450 in Flex Points for $419 (a savings of $31!) and is open to any student with 90 or more credit hours and students who have been exempt from a meal plan. This plan is also available for those who are currently on a meal plan but want additional Flex Points. The Destination Dining Plan is good at West 82, Front Room, Latitude 39, Cafe BiblioTech, Nelson Cafe, all Dining Halls and all Grab N' Go's. Points will not be accepted at Bobcat Essentials, any campus markets, in vending machines or laundry centers. All Points will expire on the last day of the semester. Additional Points will not be available as students may purchase Bobcat Cash. One Point equals $1.00. Points are non-refundable. Students on any other meal plan may add this option to their existing meal plan.
2011-12 price is $275/qtr.

2012-13 price is $419/semester.

Students who are exempted from their housing and dining contracts, live off campus, or are faculty/staff, may purchase a Block 30. The Block 30 meal plan is any 30 meals that may be used in any of our dining halls and Grab N' Go's. The 30 meals are valid from the first day of the semester and expire on the last day of the semester. Students and staff members may bring as many guests as they have meals.
2012-13 price is $231/semester.

Students who are exempted from their housing and dining contracts, live off campus, or are faculty and staff, may purchase a Block 15 plus. The Block 15 plus meal plan is any 15 meals that may be used in any of our dining halls and Grab N' Go's. This plan also gives you $150 in Bobcat Cash. The 15 meals are valid from the first day of the semester and expire on the last day of the semester. Unused Bobcat Cash will carryover to the next semester/or academic year. Students and staff members may bring as many guests as they have meals.
2012-13 price is $290/semester.

Students who have met the residence requirement or students exempted from their housing and dining contracts living off campus, or are faculty/staff, may purchase a Flex Block 45 meal plan. The Flex Block 45 meal plan is any 45 meals that may be used in any of our dining halls and Grab N' Go's (meals may not be used in the campus markets) plus $150 in Flex Points. The 45 meals and $150 Flex Points are valid from the first day of the semester and expire on the last day of the semester. Students and staff members may bring as many guests as they have meals. Points are accepted at West 82, Front Room, Latitude 39, Cafe BiblioTech, Nelson Cafe, all Dining Halls and all Grab N' Go's. Flex Points will not be accepted at Bobcat Essentials, any campus market, in vending machines or laundry centers. One Flex Point equals $1.00. Additional Points will not be available as students may purchase Bobcat Cash. Points are non-refundable. The Flex Block 45 provides students with access to enhanced dinner entrees that will be served at dinner six times throughout the semester at Boyd Dining Hall only. The Block 44 meal plan is any 44 meals that may be used in any of our dining halls and Grab N' Go's (meals may not be used in the campus markets). The 44 meals are valid from the first day of the semester and expire on the last day of the semester. Students and staff members may bring as many guests as they have meals.  The Block 44 provides students with access to enhanced dinner entrees that will be served at dinner six times throughout the semester at Boyd Dining Hall only.  Click here for the dates of these enhanced meals.

The 10 meal plan is available to students with 45+ earned credit hours or students exempt from their housing and dining contracts. The 10 meals must be used by the end of the week as they do not roll over. Only one swipe per meal period. Students may eat any 10 meals served each week in any dining hall or Grab N' Go. This plan is designed for light eaters and students who travel home every weekend.

2011-12 price is $1,158/qtr, $3,473/yr

2012-13 price is $1,764/semester, $3,528/yr


  Flex Points

Flex Points are an internal currency to be used at West 82, The Front Room, Latitude 39, OU-COM SAF Cafe, Cafe BiblioTech, Nelson Cafe, all Dining Halls and all Grab N' Go's. Points will not be accepted at Bobcat Essentials, any campus markets, in vending machines or laundry centers. All Points are loaded onto an Ohio University issued ID card and will expire on the last day of the semester. One Point equals $1.00 and points are deducted in exact amounts (one cent increments). Additional Points will not be available as staff and students may purchase Bobcat Cash. Points are non-refundable. 

 

What is the advantage of Flex Points? Flex points can be purchased at a reduced rate which allows your dollars to go further. They are also valid at retail locations on campus which makes them particularly attractive to students.

Bobcat Cash is money put on an account (similar to a prepaid debit card) that can be used at the dining halls, campus markets, vending machines, laundry centers and various on campus dining and retail operations. Simply add money to this account and then use the Ohio University-issued ID card to access this service. Additional deposits can be added as needed throughout the academic year. Bobcat Cash cannot be used off-campus, does not allow for cash withdrawals and cannot be used to purchase textbooks. Bobcat Cash account balances will automatically carry over to each new semester and / or academic year, provided the cardholder remains a registered student or employee of Ohio University. A minimum deposit of $50 is needed to activate your Bobcat Cash account. For more information please visit the residential housing page.
