MOVING with MEANING: A CONDUCTORS WORKSHOP
is designed for school band conductors and talented graduates and undergraduates who seek an open and practical forum to continue their development (June 24-28, 2013). Attendees will work closely with the workshop faculty in an engaging and supportive environment that allows for personal growth. Essential topics include gestural technique, movement awareness, score study, rehearsal skills, repertoire selection, and teaching philosophy. Conductor-Participants will conduct the Ohio University Communiversity Band in rehearsal and performance as part of the “Under the Elms” Summer Concert Series. An unlimited number of Conductor-Observers will participate in all sessions and may also have conducting opportunities during the lecture sessions.
