Ohio University Piano Students Winners in Statewide Competition

Ohio University graduate piano performance students Eunhye Grace Lee and Yoonsook Song won first prize in the Adult Duet/Duo Division of the Ohio Music Teachers Association/Graves Piano Competition on Sunday, March 2, 2014. The duo performed “Carmen Fantasy” by Greg Anderson. Ms. Lee is a student of Dr. Christopher Fisher and Ms. Song is a student of Dr. Youmee Kim. Additionally, first year graduate piano performance student, Liguang Zhou, won second prize in the Young Artist Division of the Ohio Music Teachers Association/Graves Piano Competition. Mr. Zhou performed the first movement of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata in F Minor, Op. 57 “Appassionata” and “Ondine” from Ravel’s Gaspard de la nuit. Mr. Zhou is a student of Dr. Christopher Fisher.  Liguang was recently selected as one of three winners of the Ohio University Student Soloist Competition. He will perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat Major, Op. 73 on March 30th at 4:00 p.m. with the Ohio University Symphony Orchestra in the Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium.
