Our Internships are all over the map!

Our Internships are all over the map!

Barbara Fiocchi | Jan 31, 2014

Every year we bid our students a fond farewell as they head out to internships all around the states, and sometimes beyond!

Some students have several internships throughout their undergraduate or graduate career. Internships serve several important functions~ Of course they give a student a chance to work in a variety of places, geographically as well as actual workplaces. Internships are a great way to 'try on' a job or deepen your experience in an area of interest. This past fall semester a student who is on track as a costume technician spent some time working Cirque Du Soliel's Ka in Las Vegas. She was given the opportunity to work in the costume shop, wardrobe, and she even spent a few days in the props shop. Internships are also a stepping stone to professional work. If a company has a job opening the student who is working in the shop or is in the cast as an extra has the added weight of being on the spot, you are a known entity.

Below is a list of places that our students, graduates and undergraduates, have interned over the years- our faculty understands how important internships are and the role that we play in setting up the paths that lead to good internships.
