Visiting Assistant Professor of Costume Design/Theater

Renee Garcia(Visiting Assistant Professor of Costume Design at Ohio University) Ms. Garcia received her Bachelor of Arts in Theater at Florida State University and her Master of Fine Arts in Costume Design and Technology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. While a Lecturer in Theatre at the University of Southern Maine she designed the costumes for The Drowsy Chaperone, Don't Ask Don't Tell, A View from the Bridge, Triumph of Love, Betrayal and Lend Me a Tenor at USM.Additional costume design credits include Of Farms and Fables at Open Waters Theatre, Two Gentlemen of Verona and Romeo and Juliet at the Riverside Theatre Shakespeare Festival, Green Whales at the Unicorn Theater, The Macbeth Project at The Coterie Theater and Nadya at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Ms. Garcia was the Makeup Designer for portOPERA's production of Daughter of the Regiment and the production designer for the independent film Burning Man, which premiered at the Brooklyn Academy of Music as part of BAMcinemaFest 2011. Ms. Garcia has exhibited her work at USITT's 2010 Young Designer Forum, the 2011 National Design Portfolio Review and the 2010 Merritt Award and Design Expo.
