First Year MFAs Begin Principal Photography

The First year MFA students have begun principal photography for their film one projects.  In four weeks, 14 films will have completed pre-production.  Each student writes, directs, produces, and finally edits his or her short film.  The films are typically between two to five minutes. 

The rules of the project are:

The students have five one hundred feet reels of 16 mm black and white reversal stock, the films have to be shot outdoors under available light with no on location sound.

OU FILM TAKES STEPS TOWARDS GREEN PRODUCTION INITIATIVES

Dec 11, 2014 On Weds., Dec. 4th, Ohio University Film production students attended a presentation on implementing green initiatives and practices into their film sets. Thesis M.F.A. student Vince O’Connell, who is spearheading sustainability practices within the program, organized for guest speakers Amanda Scarano Carter, Chair of Producer’s Guild of America Green West, and Andrew Ladd, Ohio University Recycling and Zero Waste Manager, to speak with students and faculty.
