Norma J. Humphreys is currently serving as the Assistant Dean in Fine Arts and is responsible for all the undergraduate student academic services in the College.   She is actively engaged in the First Year Experience program on campus and is in charge of the College of Fine Arts Residential Learning Community.  Prior to her appointment as the Assistant Dean, she taught in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and served as its Interim Director for 2 years.

A native of Tennessee with a background in music education (oboe), she taught in the public school systems of Tennessee and Missouri and was on the music faculty of Union University before coming to OU in 1990.  She also spent some time as an independent applied woodwind teacher with a studio of around 40 junior high and high school students.
