This past summer I attended the Bates Dance Festival in Lewiston, Maine. I had the opportunity to work with choreographers Larry Keigwin and Nicole Wolcott, along with others that attended the festival, on a collaborative group piece titled "Puppetville." This piece was performed at the festival's closing concert. I also had the opportunity to take a Choreography Lab class from Alison Chase, one of the original founders of Pilobolus Dance Theater. The festival experience was so inspiring because I met so many different people that are involved in the dance world. I was exposed to so many new and fresh ideas and I loved being surrounded by a community of artists that love and support each other. I made a lot of friendships at Bates and I plan on attending the festival again sometime in the future.
